ALPS Janitorial Services was founded in 1990 by Allen L. Wood — the son of a janitor who grew up watching his father work, and eventually forged his own path in the same industry. What started as cleaning floors at a small restaurant in Pulaski, New York grew into one of Central New York's most respected commercial cleaning operations.
From the very beginning, word of mouth was the engine. Satisfied customers referred other businesses, and ALPS steadily earned the trust of banks, medical offices, dental practices, and commercial buildings across Oswego, Onondaga, and Jefferson counties.
In 1996, ALPS expanded its Syracuse operations — opening a 2,400 sq. ft. office on East Molloy Road in East Syracuse — the same location it calls home today. What began with a single employee and one client has grown into a full-service commercial cleaning company with crews operating six days a week across Central New York.
"There's no way Adam and I could cover every place in one night," Wood has said. "So we must depend on our employees. We have good, trained employees." That commitment to people — both clients and crew — has defined ALPS for over three decades.

ALPS grows to serve commercial clients in Oswego, Onondaga, and Jefferson counties, including major banks and commercial buildings.
ALPS opens its East Syracuse office on East Molloy Road, formally establishing its presence in the greater Syracuse market.
ALPS is recognized as a regional success story, with 27 employees and revenues exceeding half a million dollars annually.
Today ALPS continues to serve the CNY commercial market with the same dedication to quality, professionalism, and local service that built the company from the ground up.

"We are responsible for the security of our client's building." Employees double-check that doors are locked, lights are off, and all alarms are set before leaving every single job site.
Training is a top priority at ALPS. Every crew member is trained in general operations, office and restroom cleaning, and security protocols. We'd rather pay an experienced worker than train someone new to take up the slack.
